About Stephanie Roth:

Thanks for visiting! I am a medical librarian, and I am very passionate about helping others to reach their fullest potential with systematic reviews and to increase their energy and enthusiasm for this work despite any adversity. It has been life changing for me to develop my expertise and share my insights and ideas with librarians from around the world.

Before finding my path with systematic reviews, I was struggling to get by as a mom on my new teacher salary. After receiving my Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, I began to explore opportunities in research. Soon after, I was hired at a local job fair (I almost didn’t attend) by a pain management physicians group. When I interviewed, the doctor/owner of the practice was enthusiastic about research and medicine and was excited for me to join the medical practice to support systematic reviews. I was hired on the spot at my interview but I was very nervous to learn something new and experienced imposter syndrome. Despite my doubts, I poured my heart into learning all that I could. I wanted to prove to him and myself that librarians could become experts in systematic reviews. At that time there weren’t jobs for librarians in systematic reviews, I knew that it was unusual for a librarian to work outside of the library setting, but I was excited to expand the definition of what a librarian could do and be at the forefront of that.

One of my early systematic review mentors (the same doctor who hired me on the spot) passed away after suffering from an illness shortly after his 60th birthday, without him taking a chance on me as a new librarian, this website would not be possible. I’ve decided to donate a portion from any profits from the products and services on this website to support dementia and alzheimer’s research.

Besides my passion for systematic reviews I am passionate about working out, creativity, art, and iced coffee! Oh yes and being a mom too!!

I just want to take a moment to say a quick thank you! Finding systematic reviews changed my life, I have had a humble start in my career and I was unsure of myself in the beginning. I have been lucky to have been able to run with the opportunities presented to me and enjoyed engaging and getting to know so many people along the way. I've jumped all in and threw myself in very uncomfortable situations like teaching webinars, live courses, online courses, leading a team, leading a caucus, and sharing my ideas. It is the people I've met along the way that have really impacted me and have given me the most joy, so thank you!
